Our Independent Living Skills Specialists offer training, care, and supervision to families and caregivers who have children or adults with disabilities living in their homes or in foster care settings. Independent Living Skills Services are centered in the individual’s home and in the community, as designed by the person served, family, and case manager. This Service supports families in caring for family members so that they are able to remain in their family homes. We provide direct training from a staff person to address an identified skill development needs of a person in the areas of:
- Communication skills
- Community living and mobility
- Interpersonal skills
- Reduction/elimination of challenging behavior
- Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills
- Self care
- And more
